2013 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Convertible
Chevrolet has officially released the specification detail, pricing detail and launch date for their latest sport car model, 2013 Chevy Camaro ZL1 Convertible.
2013 Chevy Camaro ZL1 Convertible will be powered by a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine which can produce maximum 580 horsepower (432 kW / 588 PS) and 556 pound-feet (752 Nm) of torque. ZL1 engine paired with a standard six-speed manual transmission or six-speed automatic. Chevrolet claims that the new Chevy Camaro ZL1 Convertible can reach 184 mph (296 kmh) in the top speed and accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in only 4.0 seconds.
For the body design, the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 will offer an aggressive body kit along with a unique “mohawk-style” hood, which features a functional air extractor and is made of a carbon fiber composite. The cabin is dressed up with a sueded microfiber-accented instrument panel and an available (and highly recommended) sueded microfiber wrap on the special flat-bottom steering wheel and shifter.
The new ZL1 Convertible is available in some exterior colors choice, including: Black, Ashen Gray, Imperial Blue Metallic, Inferno Orange Metallic, Rally Yellow, Silver Ice Metallic, Summit White, Victory Red or Crystal Red Tintcoat.
ZL1 customer also can choose on of a pair of wheels, either standard 10-spoke black wheels with a low-gloss clear coat with forged aluminum, or forged aluminum wheels with five spokes and a polished face protected by a standard high-gloss clear coat. Being the range-topping performance model, Chevrolet made sure to pick the wheels accordingly, coming in 11 lbs lighter than the wheels on the 2SS model.
On the interior, ZL1 Convertible will features a heated leather seats with microfiber suede inserts with six-sway power adjustability, leather wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, unique alloy pedal covers, ZL1 door sill plates, Boston Acoustics-provided premium audio, complete with nine speakers, four auxiliary gauges including boost, rear park assist, rear camera display in the mirror and more.
In addition, there is another features as an option which includes a power sunroof, stripe package, exposed carbon fiber hood insert, interior suede microfiber package (covers steering wheel, shift knob and shift boot) and the previously mentioned automatic transmission and forged aluminum wheels.
The new 2013 Chevy Camaro ZL1 Convertible will go on sale late this year. Price will start from $60,445, including a $900 destination charge. While for 2013 Chevy Camaro 1LE Coupe will priced at $37,035 including a $900 destination charge.
FYI : The ZL1 main competitor “Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Convertible” price will start from $59,995 (including a $795 destination charge) which can provide 650 horsepower (484 kW / 659 PS) and 600 lb.-ft. (812 Nm) of torque.
