Chevrolet has officially released the new mid SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle) 2013 Chevrolet Equinox which offers exceptional versatility, distinctive design and a high-level of practicality with more power.
2013 Chevrolet Equinox will be available in four trim levels which includes LS, 1LT, 2LT and LTZ, with either front-wheel or all-wheel drive configuration. The standard LS come with a 2.4-liter direct injection four-cylinder which generate maximum 182 horsepower and 172 lb-ft of torque and paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. A 301 horsepower and 272 lb-ft of torque (increase of 37 hp and 50 from previous model) come from 3.6-liter direct injection V6 is optional on the LT and LTZ trims. Both engines have E85 FlexFuel capability.
For the first time, the Chev Equinox has an available eight-way power passenger seat and a universal garage door opener. Both features are a part of the Power Convenience Package that’s available on the 2LT and LTZ trims. The new dual-flow dampers, standard on V-6 models with 18- or 19-inch wheels, utterly transform the Equinox’s handling. Body motions are now well controlled, making the Equinox feel less top-heavy. The dampers also do a good job of absorbing mid-corner bumps, keeping the SUV on track with minimal jitters through the steering column. In highway driving, the Equinox feels firmly planted. Combined with the hydraulic steering, the dual-flow dampers make the Equinox feel sure-footed and easy to drive in any situation.
On the interior, Chevy MyLink with navigation makes its way to the options list for the first time—in the past, buyers were forced to choose between a navigation system and MyLink—although it will be available only on the mid-level LT and range-topping LTZ trim levels. Those two trims also gain an eight-way power passenger seat (optional on the LT) and a Safety package, which includes forward-collision alert, lane-departure warning, and radar-based rear park assist. Also new is an available rear-seat entertainment system that includes monitors in the back of the front headrests, dual wireless headphones, and a dual-player DVD setup—again, available as an option only on LT and LTZ trims. With any luck, it’ll distract the kids from the engine noise.
