2013 Chevrolet Onix
Chevrolet Brazilian has unveiled the new hatchback model named 2013 Chevrolet Onix at the 2012 International Auto Show of São Paulo. The Onix will be offered in LS, LT and LTZ trim levels, each offering exclusive customization through adhesives and appliques with “Joy,” “Race,” and “24 Hours” theme.
2013 Chevrolet Onix will be powered by a choice between a 1.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produce 80 horsepower and a 1.4-liter four-banger deliver 106 ponies. The engines can be mated with a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmissions and both equipped to run on 100 percent ethanol or a flex fuel mixture of gasoline and ethanol.
The Onix come with a softer and friendlier design than the small cars that Chevy offers in the United States. It borrows styling cues from Chevrolet’s global design language and it features a slightly raised ground clearance to tackle poorly-paved roads.
On the interior, the new Chevy Onix will feature Bluetooth capability along with the Chevrolet MyLink system, a segment first, that allows the user to bring his/her songs, photos, videos and mobile phone applications for display on a seven-inch color LCD screen inside the vehicle.
In term of safety, all Onix trim levels will come with standard ABS brakes and dual front airbags.
The new 2013 Chevy Onix hatchback will go on sale throughout Brazilian market before the end of the year. Base price will start from R$29,990 or about $15,000.
