2013 Ferrari F12 Berlinetta
2013 Ferrari F12 Berlinetta is the new Ferrari sport car and will appear in Geneva Motor Show 2012. The new Berlinetta is the most powerful and high-performance sport car ever in Ferrari history. Because this vehicle powered with with 6.3 liter V12 engine that can produce a maximum power output of 740hp which translates to a specific output of 118hp per liter. This car is fastest Ferrari car that can achieve top speed over 340 km/h and with 12-cylinder this car also has an exceptional acceleration that capable to go from 1 – 100km/h in only 3.1 seconds.
Torque reaches a peak of 690Nm, 80 per cent of which is already available at just 2,500rpm. The red line is at 8,700rpm. The engine is mated to the F1 dual-clutch transmission, which has closer gear ratios. The Ferrari F12 Berlinetta boasts a weight-to-power ratio of just 2.1kg/hp.
For the design, Ferrari F12 Berlinetta designed with very modern concept, it’s seen from the change of traditional transaxle layout to adjust the high performance of the engine. The design is a result of the collaboration between the Ferrari Styling Centre and Pininfarina.
The wheelbase has been shortened, and the engine dashboard and seats have been lowered in the chassis, while the rear of this vehicle will be made smaller beacause new layout of the rear suspension and gearbox enable to it. Moreover, this new ferrari sport car also equipped with latest generation carbon-ceramic brakes (CCM3) and the magnetorheological suspension control system (SCM-E)..
For the interior, Ferrari F12 Berlinetta combines the results of a sedan design generally and the design of own Ferrari. F12 have 2 comfortable seats made of high quality soft leather. The seat design was adopted from racing car seat and the cabin has additional luggage capacity behind the seats. If we go to the dashboard, we can find a tachometers which only owned by Ferrari, the engine start button which then serves to start the engine, right there on the steering wheel. And several other key has its own function.
For this Ferrari model, the chassis has been created by Scaglietti using an all-new spaceframe chassis and bodyshell that features 12 different alloys. This has resulted in a twenty per cent increase in structural rigidity of the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta while reducing weight to just 1,525kg (70kg less than the previous V12 coupe).
