2013 Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Super Trofeo
Lamborghini officially released the new race car based on Gallardo LP570-4. The name is 2013 Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Super Trofeo which features a similar look to the 2013 Gallardo LP 560-4 model from which it’s derived, was revealed at the conclusion of the 2012 Blancpain Super Trofeo European Championship at the Navarra race circuit in Spain over the weekend. Stephan Winkelmann, Automobili Lamborghini’s President and CEO revealed the redesigned racer alongside the company’s Research & Development Director and Head of Lamborghini Motorsport, Maurizio Reggiani.
As a standard model, 2013 Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Super Trofeo come with a 5.2-liter V10 engine which deliver 570 horsepower (425 kW) delivering power to all four wheels.. But the new Gallardo LP570-4 Super Trofeo model has received remodeled brake ducts that help achieving a 50% improvement in thermal performance with improved front brake cooling. Also, 120% better balance and dynamic performance is achieved by increasing downforce by 282 lbs in low downforce set up and 352 lbs in high downforce trim.
At the official unveiling, Maurizio Reggiani – Head of Lamborghini Motorsport – declared that the”series has significantly expanded its grid, inaugurated a successful championship in Asia, provided a fertile environment for guest and VIP immersion in the Lamborghini brand, and had built a significant following through traditional and burgeoning social media.”
For body design, the Super Trofeo race car is composed almost entirely of carbon fiber, including the bumpers, splitter, rear hood piece, front compartment cover, side skirts, diffuser and large rear wing. The rear wing can also be repositioned to suit the requirements of different race tracks and environments. Inside, there’s Alcantara trim and a low-mounted racing bucket seat produced from a mix of Kevlar and carbon fiber.
The Blancpain Super Trofeo Championship is a one-make racing series aimed at gentleman racers and private firms. Each team is provided with a car or they can field their own as long as it meets the series’ strict regulations. For the 2012 season, each team needed to field a race car based on the Gallardo LP 560-4, and the same will apply for the 2013 season which based on the 2013 Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4.
