2012 Mazda MX-5 GT First Pictures
2012 Mazda MX-5 GT is the latest road car concept from Japanese manufacturer, Mazda and here you can found the first officially pictures. MX-5 GT will first officially debut next weekend’s at Goodwood Festival Speed in UK. This car is based on the hardtop Roadster Coupe model with the style that almost similar with MX-5 Super20 which has appeared at SEMA show in Las Vegas, last year. The designer is Jota Sport, a race specialists car tuner.
For the performance, 2012 Mazda MX-5 GT will be powered with 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that capable of producing 205 horsepower (153 kW / 208 PS). The engine power will be supported with a standard manual gearbox. Mazda claimed that MX-5 GT will reach 160 mph (257 km/h) on the top speed and can accelerate from 0-60 mph in only 3 second.
Mazda also offers the revised suspension in order to get a better handling. In addition the suspension also can be adapted to the character of the racetrack. There is also the improved aerodynamics assistance by use a carbon materials on the water front splitter, rear diffuser and spoiler. For exhaust system MX-5 use tailpipe sporty model in the middle.
In the side of interior, Mazda MX-5 GT concept gets Recaro seats to add a sporty sense. Plenty of carbon fiber to suits any sports car enthusiast and reduce weight. Road slicks and body-colored roll hoops behind the seats were also added for customers who want to run the car on the racetrack.
“The MX-5 has been our best known car for 22 years and with the GT4 and GT Concept on show, we are demonstrating that this car can compete with the more expensive race and performance cars but still remain true to its roots of affordable motoring with a strong focus on the driving experience, said Jeremy Thomson, Managing Director, Mazda UK.
