2013 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 45th Anniversary
Mercedes-Benz released the special edition to celebrate AMG’s 45th Anniversary named 2013 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 “45th Anniversary”. This GT3 45th Anniversary racing car version is based on SLS AMG GT Coupe.
2013 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 “45th Anniversary” will be powered by same 6.3-liter AMG V8 engine as the coupe version. GT3 will accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (0 to 100 km/h) in 3.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 186 mph (300 km/h).
Several exterior and interior upgrades have been carried out for GT3 limited edition race car. The body design and alloy wheels is given an unique Designo Magno Graphite matte finish. There is also special badge and a “45 Years of Driving Performance” logo on the car, and many of the aerodynamic components have been left unpainted, showing off their beautiful carbon fiber weaves.
In line with the body design, GT3 interior also gets a few special touches. The roll cage gets the same paint treatment as the exterior and wheels, the dashboard sports a matte carbon fiber look, and the seat-belt and steering wheel center are silver. Finally, GT3 interior get a special “1 of 5” badge on the center stack.
The AMG GT3 45th Anniversary is also much lighter, having forgone many of the usual luxury amenities, and its chassis has been uprated for the adverse conditions of motor-sports.
The SLS AMG GT3 race car has proven extremely successful since its debut two years ago. In fact, this year alone it has 32 victories under its belt in various racing formats around the world, having scored three driver and team titles in the FIA GT3 European Championship, the ADAC GT Masters and the FIA GT1 World Championship.
As a collector edition, only five unit of the limited 45th anniversary SLS AMG GT3 will be built. In Germany market, 2013 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 “45th Anniversary” priced at €446,250 (approximately $578,530) including VAT.
