2012 Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo Concept
Porsche releases first official photos and specification detail for the new concept 2012 Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo ahead its world premiere Paris Auto Show 2012. This model is shooting brake variant of the popular Porsche sedan, with Mercedes-Benz CLS Shooting Brake and the Jaguar XF Sportbrake as the main competitors.
2012 Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo Concept come with a plug-in hybrid powertrian that combines a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 engine with 333 horsepower (245 kW), a 95 horsepower (70 kW) from electric motor and a 9.4 kWh lithium-ion battery. The Turismo all power source can generate maximum 416 horsepower (306 kW), make this car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in less than 6 seconds and in pure electric mode, this vehicle can reach speeds of up to 130km/h (81 mph)and cover distances of 30km (18.6 miles) .
In terms of fuel consumption, the model consumes less than 3.5 L/100km (67.2 mpg US / 80.7 mpg UK) and has CO2 emissions under 82 g/km. The battery is charged while driving or with just 2.5 hours of external charging.
For the body design, new Panamera Sport Turismo Concept has 4,950mm long, 1,990mm wide and 1,401mm tall. The body designed in a clean and elegant concept which is both practical and attractive. The main features include the headlights, which are full LED units, while the turn signals have been integrated into new C-shaped units mounted in the intakes, which Porsche likes to call “C-Blades.”
On the interior, the new Turismo Porsche adopts a “less is more” philosophy, giving the driver “as little as possible and as much as necessary” in Porsche’s own words. There are no traditional analog instruments, but instead a large central TFT color display is positioned in front of the driver and two monitors, one to the left and one to the right of this display, which show images from the exterior mirror cameras. Side mirrors are omitted, replaced by dual rear cameras and dual dashboard displays. Even there is no a conventional “Start” button.
The new 2012 Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo Concept will make its first debut at 2012 Paris Auto Show this week. Pricing detail, release date and production detail will be announced later.
