2013 Renault Clio Estate
Renault has officially announced the wagon version for the new Clio named 2013 Renault Clio Estate. Join the hatchback model, Clio Estate also has made its world premiere at 2012 Paris Auto Show.
2013 Renault Clio Estate will be powered by the same engines found in the Clio hatchback and which include a 0.9-liter three-cylinder engine which produce 89 horsepower (90 PS) and 1.2-liter turbocharged gasoline units which delivers 118 horsepower (120 PS). All engine line-up will be mated with Renault’s new EDC twin-clutch transmission.
For the body design, Clio Estate is clearly identical with the new Clio hatchback with the rear overhang has been extended by 201 mm to 823 mm, increasing the overall length of the car to 4,262 mm. Its profile features a long bonnet and pronounced rear shoulders, while its lines stretch rearwards towards to an upright tailgate that points to the car’s high carrying capacity. As on the hatchback, the rear door handles are concealed. The smooth, flowing lines are accentuated by the integration of the B and C pillars which are flush with the surface of the glass, while the roof appears to float to emphasize the design’s overall elegance.
On the interior, Clio Estate has a bigger capacity than the hatchback model. Its has 430 liters with the rear seats up, or 130 litres more than that of the Clio hatchback.
Renault has also lowered the loading sill with the Estate offering the ability to fold down not only the rear seats, but also the front passenger seat to create what the company describes as a “record maximum load length”.
The new 2013 Renault Clio Estatewill be available in European dealerships from the first quarter of 2013 (depending on market). Price will start from £10,595 for base 89 horsepower model.
