2013 Renault Clio

2013 Renault Clio has made its first debut at Paris Motor Show 2012. Renault also reportedly ready to released this Clio fourth-generation in September 2012.

2013 Renault Clio will be powered with some engine variation. First up, there’s a turbocharged 900cc three-cylinder Energy TCe 90 which can produces 90 PS (66 kW / 89 hp) and 135 Nm (100 lb-ft) of torque. It will enable the model to average 4.3 L/100km (54.7 mpg US / 65.7 mpg UK) with CO2 emissions of 99 g/km.

The second option is a new 1.5-liter four-cylinder Energy dCi 90 which produces 90 PS (66 kW / 89 hp) and 220 Nm (162 lb-ft) of torque. Owners can expect to average 3.2 L/100km (73.5 mpg US / 88.3 mpg UK) with CO2 emissions of 83 g/km.

The top model engine is 1.2-liter four-cylinder TCe 120 which develops 120 PS (88 kW / 118 hp) and 190 Nm (140 lb-ft) of torque. The engine won’t be available until the first half of 2013, but Renault says “it will be among the most powerful, yet most economical engines in its class”.

There is  two manual transmissions offered, both of which are 5-speeds. One will be your run-of-the-mill 5-slot trans, while the optional transmission will have taller gear ratios to help increase fuel economy. Also available will be a dual-clutch automatic tranny.

2013 Clio will be available as a 5-door hatchback (there is no choice of  3-doors).  There are revised headlights, which still angle rearward, but the 2013’s headlights have more angles and the rearmost section stretches farther back on the fenders. The grille is 100 percent new, as it boasts a black grille stretching from one headlight to the other with a chrome strip in the middle that connects to each side of the Renault’s diamond logo in the center of the grille. The hood is also revised with a much more aggressively sloped nose and sharper lines.

While the exterior of the revised Clio does bear similar body lines to the 2012 model, the 2013 models lines are heavily exaggerated. Renault eliminated the full-length beltline down the side of the Clio, but added in more pronounce and bulging fenders, especially on the back end. On the base of the rear doors, there is a slow protruding arch that gives the doors a lot of character.

In the interior, customer will find a center mounted digital speedometer and buyers can choose between a red, black, brown, or white dashboard color. There is also an optimally-positioned multimedia system on the center console, comfortable seats, and chrome and piano-black trim highlights.

Optional features for the 2013 Renault Clio include:

A wide seven-inch (18cm) touchscreen
Intuitive voice commands
A home page that can be personalized by the user for safe and simple access to essential functions, without the driver having to take his or her eyes off the road
