2013 Volkswagen Caddy Cross
Volkswagen has released the official photos of new passenger van model special edition 2013 Volkswagen Caddy Cross ahead 2012 Paris Auto Show. This new model is based on the existing Caddy Edition 30 and will be offered with either five or seven seats configuration.
2013 Volkswagen Caddy Cross will be available with the entire lineup of standard Caddy engines which includes TDI, TSI, LPG and natural gas power units with outputs varying between 85 hp (63 kW) to 168 hp (125 kW). In addition, the manufacturer will also sell versions with the company’s 4MOTION four-wheel drive system and with the DSG transmission.
For the body design, the new VW Caddy Cross comes with a protective armor. On the lower areas of the front and rear bumper, the side sills, and the wheel arches. The undercarriage on the front and rear also have their own silver guards while the silver roof rails allow for extra luggage stowing. Finally, this model will available in a choice of eight body colors, including the “Viper Green” in the photos, are available as are the new set of 17-inch alloy wheels.
On the interior, new Caddy Cross VW 2013 comes with cabin surprisingly with a leather trim with grey stitching on various parts of the cabin, including the handbrake lever and the gear knob. We’re not sure why there’s leather on a vehicle that’s fixing to get stained from the off-road, but hey, it does add some semblance of luxury to it. The two-tone front seats are a nice touch and the choice of either five or seven seats gives VW costumer a nice choice of seating configurations.
The new 2013 Volkswagen Caddy Cross will make its official debut at 2012 Paris Show this week. After that, the Caddy Cross will go on sale in early next year. Price will be announced close to its release date date.
FYI : At the time of writing Volkswagen does not plan on selling the van in the North America.
