2013 Volkswagen Golf Mk7
Volkswagen has officially released the seventh-generation of VW Golf model named 2013 Volkswagen Golf Mk7. This model has made its world premiere at the 2012 Paris Auto Show in last September. In UK market, VW Golf Mk7 2012 will available in three- and five hatchback, both available in three trim levels named S, SE and GT.
2013 Volkswagen Golf Mk7 is available a choice of four petrol engines and two diesels. The entry level Golf S 3-door will be powered by a 1.2-liter TSI petrol engine deliver 84 horsepower (85 PS). The higher version is a 1.2-liter TSI 104 horsepower (105 PS) and a 1.4-liter TSI 120 horsepower (122 PS) motor to the all-new 1.4-liter TSI 138 horsepower (140 PS) engine with Active Cylinder Technology.
While for diesel line-up will features a 1.6-liter TDI 104 horsepower (105 PS) and a new 2.0-liter TDI 148 horsepower (150 PS unit). All Mk7 Golf models will be supported with a Stop/Start system and battery regeneration as standard. Transmission options depend on the engine and include a mixture of 5-speed and 6-speed manuals, and 6-speed and 7-speed dual-clutch DSG units.
All 2013 VW Golf Mk7 trim level is offered with standard feature which includes seven airbags, five three-point seatbelts, ABS with ESP, XDS electronic differential lock and Isofix preparation for two rear child seats.
The base “S” model gets a Composition Media system with a 5.8-inch color touchscreen, DAB digital radio, a CD player, MDI interface (for connecting iPod or MP3 player), Bluetooth telephone preparation and audio streaming and eight speakers, along with ‘Climatic’ semi-automatic air conditioning.
The SE trim level adds ADC Automatic Distance Control with Front Assist and City Emergency Braking, a Driver Alert System, PreCrash preventative occupant protection, Driver Profile Selection (with four modes and five on DSG-equipped cars), rain-sensitive wipers, an automatically dimming rear-view mirror and dusk sensor (automatic driving lights).
Other standard amenities on the SE models are brushed stainless steel decorative inserts, upgraded upholstery, leather-trimmed handbrake grip, gear lever and multifunction steering wheel, black radiator grille with chrome trimmed-inserts and 16-inch alloy rims.
Next up is the GT grade that sports 17-inch alloy wheels, front fog lights and air intakes with chrome surrounds, front fog lights, air intakes with chrome surrounds, ‘Cherry Red’ taillights, and dark-tinted rear glass.
On the interior, the GT is upgraded with gloss black decorative inserts, Alcantara and cloth sports seats, LED reading lights, ambient lighting in the doors and center console, electrically foldable door mirrors with puddle lights, front and rear parking sensors with visual display and the Discover Navigation media system with a 5.8-inch color touchscreen preloaded with European mapping data.
The automaker also offers a ton of extras ranging from an automatic parking system to an ACC adaptive chassis control and a panoramic sunroof.
For UK market, the new 2013 Volkswagen Golf Mk7 is already can be ordered starting on October 18, first deliveries in January. Priced at £16,330 On The Road or about ($26,250 or €20,350 at the current rates).
