2013 VW Beetle R-Line
The two R-Line package now available for the top “Sport” version of 2013 VW Beetle. The Beetle R-line package will include an exterior package and an interior package. But Voklswagen not yet announced if and when the R-Line packages will be available in markets outside of Europe.
In Germany, the 2013 VW Beetle Sport is available with two petrol engines, a 1.4 TSI with 158 horsepower (160 PS) or a 2.0 TSI with 197 horsepower (200 PS) and a 2.0 TDI diesel deliver 138 horsepower (140 PS).
With the exception of the wider wheels, both R-Line kits bring purely cosmetic upgrades. The exterior package available as a standalone item that can be combined with any of the 12 variety Beetle colors, while the interior package is offered only as an extension of the R-Line exterior details.
The exterior R-Line package spices up the looks of the Beetle with independent black grained air inlets and chrome surrounds for the directional indicators on the front bumper, a rear diffuser, unique body side panels, colored door mirror housings, R-Line logos on the front fenders, and 18-inch wheels.
Volkswagen also offers machine-polished 19-inch “Tornado” style rims in black or white shod in even wider 235/40 performance tires, as an option.
The other R-Line package for the interior brings sport seats upholstered with an active-breathing fabric and embossed ‘R-Line’ head restraints (optionally available in black leather), leather-trimmed sport steering wheel, gearshift lever boot and handbrake grip, with decorative seams in “Art Grey”, and dark inlay trims on the dashboard and door panels.
The special 2013 VW Beetle R-Line exterior package is priced at €1,290 or about $1,665, and when the interior package is included the price starts at €1,675 or about $2,160.
